Volley, for people writing about it

The short version, the facts, the boilerplate, screenshots of the current product, and the terms for using them. A person reads [email protected].

What Volley is

Volley is a women-first wardrobe app built around one quietly radical idea: the best closet you have access to isn't only your own — it's your friends'. Volley catalogs your closet in seconds (AI reads each piece; you confirm or fix — you never fill in a form), suggests a fit each morning from the weather and what you actually wear, and lets you open your closet to the friends you choose. See something of hers you love, request to borrow, and every piece comes home. No fees to borrow, ever. No due dates — nothing in Volley is due.

The facts
  • Platform: iOS, women-first launch. Currently in early access with a small founding cohort; public waitlist at onvolley.com.
  • Category honesty, both directions: Volley is not a marketplace and there is no feed of strangers — friends only, private by default. And it is not only a cataloging app — the lending layer between friends is the point; cataloging is how we earn it.
  • Jewelry is a first-class category, and often the first thing a friend borrows, because it doesn't have to fit.
  • Privacy posture: we don't sell data and we don't train models on your closet.
  • What we don't share: usage numbers pre-launch. If asked, the line is honest and boring: "We're in early access with a small founding cohort and aren't sharing numbers yet." Never a volume claim, never a vanity stat.
Boilerplate

Volley is a women-first wardrobe app: catalog your closet in seconds, get a fit for the day each morning, and borrow from the friends you choose. No fees, no due dates, no feed of strangers — just the closets of the people who'd already lend to you. Volley is in early access; the waitlist is at onvolley.com.

The current product

A closet, catalogued in seconds. AI reads each piece and she confirms or fixes — nobody fills in a form.
The morning fit, built from the weather and what she actually wears. The rose ring marks a borrowed piece.
The court: the social layer. Friends only, private by default — no feed, no strangers.
A friend's closet, open to her. Only what her friend chose to make lendable, and every piece comes home.
The mirror: Volley's privacy divider. Her side, and the side she's chosen to open.

Questions we get
Is it a rental app?
No. Nothing on Volley is for rent and no money moves between friends — you borrow from a friend, free, and the piece comes home.
How is it different from closet-cataloging apps?
Cataloging is table stakes — ours takes seconds because AI goes first and you correct it. The difference is what the catalog is for: opening your closet to your friends.
Is my closet public?
Private by default, friends only, and a friend sees only what you choose to make lendable.
What does the AI do with my photos?
Reads your pieces so you don't fill in forms. We don't sell data or train models on your closet.
When does it launch publicly?
The honest current answer: early access now, waitlist open. No date claimed until Tate claims one.
Using these

Kit assets are cleared for editorial use with credit "Courtesy of Volley." Don't alter the marks or recolor the art; screenshots run as provided. That's the whole license — a press kit that reads like a contract defeats itself.
